New Vacancy- Community Development Manager

As the Community Development Manager, you will continue the excellent work of the Trust to thrill and inspire their audiences with the real and virtual ship. Your primary goal will be to identify and connect with new audiences and increase the numbers of visitors, event participants and the membership for the Trust, raising its profile locally, nationally and within the tourism industry.

Who You Are

With visitor, member and volunteer engagement pertinent to the role, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a can-do attitude. You will be an inspirational leader, able to motivate and encourage our volunteer stewards and recruit further volunteers to the team.

You will be skilled at making new connections, collaborating with other charities and organisations and creating partnerships.

You must also be comfortable with data capture and analysis, identifying gaps and opportunities for further growth and engagement of our audiences. You will take the lead on audience research, data collection, analysis and planning. IT skills with the ability to manage social media accounts and update websites is vital and you’ll be able to demonstrate some prior experience.

A background within the heritage or museum sector would be advantageous but is not essential, but we would expect some marketing or events promotion/management experience.

This contract position sits within the Trust’s development programme which is part of a Heritage Lottery-funded project. The position will be in place until December 2024.
