Following the success of last year’s musical evenings, we are delighted to announce the first of a series of Shanty nights in 2024.
The Applecorers from Appledore are a community sea shanty group and you are invited to enjoy an evening aboard the SS Freshspring listening to them perform traditional sea shanties and rousing maritime songs of the sea, once chanted by working sailors rhythmically working through their labours.
The Applecorers never fail to enrapture audiences and inspire heartfelt singalongs. It’ll be an evening to remember! But tickets are limited and last year they sold out very quickly!
Please note that this will be a Bring Your Own event. The evening will be in two parts with a good interval in which to enjoy your own drinks and food.
Accessibility and facilities onboard
The deck, where we will be hosting the event, is wheelchair accessible via a gangplank, but it is under a marquee. It is therefore protected by the rain, but we recommend that you dress warmly as we are unable to heat the space.
Male, female and accessible toilets are available just two minutes away across the car park. There is no onboard toilet or running water.
