Learning and maritime education
Discover the importance of SS Freshspring, steam and engineering through our maritime education programme. Explore on-board and hear stories from the past.

All visits are free, but we welcome a minimum £3 donation per person.
All school and group visits must be booked in advance.
We welcome pre-visits by teachers or group leaders who are bringing groups to the ship. Please contact the Educational and Project Officer to arrange a time.

A variety of ways to learn and engage with maritime education
We offer a huge variety of ways to learn about and engage with SS Freshspring and are committed to lifelong learning; we can cater for any age group and adapt workshops/activities accordingly.
We offer:
- Ship talks and tours
- Talks to groups and organisations
- Schools workshops both on-board and as outreach sessions at schools
- A STEM/Engineering set of lessons for loan in schools for a half-term period
- School holiday and occasional weekend family activities
- Workshops for adults
- Work experience/placements

We offer an exciting and flexible curriculum-linked education programme for schools.
